Hal Horn Wins His First Monthly

After finishing in second place a whooping six times out of twelve monthlies, Hal finally finished on top today with a round of two under, 79.  This first place finish only widens the gap between Hal and those chasing him in the Championship points.  He now leads the Championship race by eight points.  He will be tough to catch by year end with only four more tournaments to be played.

Hal Horn at a Wednesday eventBy the way, this monthly was Hal’s one year anniversary playing in the Chainracker’s monthlies.  After not being able to break par all last season, Hal has finished under par in three of the monthlies this year.  His game continues to improve each month with plenty of practice.  Hal is one of the longest drivers in the club and his putts are becoming a more solid part of his game.

Second place this month went to George Kimmerlein who also shoot a 79, but was edged out by his handicap.  George was under par after finishing both the medium and long tees.  Jack Kaufusi, Del Silva and Marie Finn finished third, fourth and fifth, respectively.  John Kimball shot the best non-handicap round of that day at 74, but his punishing ADD 9 handicap put him out of the running.

I could of beat Hal if I was there lol.

We missed you, Austin! Hal was complaining that without you there wasn’t enough competition.

It is always a pleasure to watch Hal’s smoothness off the teepad. Geoff, Felix and I watched it for all 27 holes. Now that Hal has his black mini we can only hope it put a dampness on that fire in his belly!!!!! Oops!! Just remembered that fire is now aimed at the Club Championship!!! Geoff is throwing with much more consistency and he is getting more confident in his putting. Just get those worm burners out and your handicap will soon be even. I see a win by the end of the year for Geoff. No pressure!!!! Was nice to see Felix out for the first time this year, Jack and Del for their 2nd and newbies to the sport Doug and Kevan. Doug is a master archerist, (Dam good with a bow and arrow), who has found a new sport to challenge him!!!! Thanks to Del for harassing Ernie to come down and play. Del’s harassing a few others to venture south!!! Hey Hal, I have noticed that when you rotate your upper body, the angle of your………….LOL just trying to think of something that will get you to thinking of something that just might mess your game up!!!!! Was a fun day!!!! Keep ’em flyin’ Rackers.
4th Wed. is Play One Disc night!! That would be Aug. 27th.

Definitely missed you Austin. Good excuse though, instead of watching me win, you got to see Zito throw a Great game!!!! Go Giants!!!
