A Motley Crew in August

About a dozen or so showed up to play early last Saturday morning, getting started before the heat of the day. Some of the original Chainrackers (many of whom haven’t been seen around for more than a year!) showed up — and two of them brought home extra points!! Rob won the CTP playoff for 3rd Place and tied his personal best, while Bryan took 4th Place.

1st Place for August 2012 went to Steve, who not only took 1st but also scored a new personal best (from 103 down to 98). Steve’s son, Ben, took home 2nd, with a net 79. Ben’s cast is scheduled to come off in a couple of weeks, so it will be interesting to see how things go in September. Rounding out the day, Marie tied both Del at net 81 for 5th Place and her own personal best. Given the heat and various other factors, Del ceded the extra point for 5th to Marie.

Jason Lawrence completed his third qualifying round and now has a Chainrackers handicap beginning with September 2012. Mitch Carbone and Thomas Fezler completed their first rounds towards their Chainracker handicaps.

For the 2012 Championship, Austin retained first and John retained second.  Marie moved up to third while Ben moved up and is now tied with Geoff for fourth.

Nice to see all those smiling faces out there on the course…..

Congrats to Steve for his first win and first sub 100 round. Ben, nice job backing up last months first sub 100 round with another one. Certainly was a pleasure to verbally chew with the motley crew as we threw. Bummed that Felix had to depart early, but thoroughly enjoyed seeing the Blessed Birdies and 86 Softie being tossed around the course again.
Thanks to Del for getting the aged ones out there. Looks like that Bubble Plastic has rejuvenated Rob’s game!!! His 81 tied his PB, of which he has a few. Had it not been for the new OB’s around the trees Rob would have had a new PB. Hopefully Mother Nature will provide us with some cooler weather in September. Until then–Keep ’em flyin’—JBK

It was good to see that Marie not only managed to get around the course, but to place! Good job. =)
