Ben Wins Final 2013 Monthly!!

Disc-EGCR 12:13               Ben crushed the field with his first sub 80 round of 78!!  A new PB by 4 strokes!!  Dean came in 2nd a full 7 strokes behind Ben. This        was Dean’s first tourney with a qualified handicap and he established a PB round of 75.  Austin came in 3rd, Pete 4th and Hal 5th. Pete tied his PB of 102. I predict Pete will get that PB under 100 in 2014.   In the 2013 Championship Points race Josh played his victory round as he could not be caught in December. Congrats Josh!!  In the 6 years of EGCR we have yet to have a repeat winner for the Championships!!  Austin had 2nd place wrapped up before teeing off.  With his monthly win Ben broke the tie with Pete to take home third. Pete received the fourth place medal and Dylan hung on for 5th place.  2014 will be another exciting year for the EGCR’s.  How many Personal Bests will be thrown?  Will someone repeat as a Point winner?  How many new tee areas will be introduced??  What’s your question for 2014??  We have 12 monthlies to figure these things out!!—-JBK

Dylan 5th, Ben 3rd, Josh 1st, Austin 2nd, Pete 4th

how many Champions have won it with a +handicap? besides the 2008 Champion!! <> double club winner that year

keep on truckin in 2014

Hello there B-Me. I know this may disappoint you, but Austin won in 2012 with a +handicap. Now here is an asterisk that might brighten your day. Austin did not have a +handicap for the full year. It wasn’t until July that he crossed the even par line. Will definitely keep on trucking’–problem is having to repair more flats as the years pass!!

yea it felt great that I won that year with having to add to my score, now im living proof that you can win a year with an +handicap. BTW I think I had to add to my score for most of the year.

Congrats to all of this year’s winners. I love reading about the monthly tournaments, but miss that I can’t be there to play with you.
