The 270′ flight of a Wasp nestled softly into the chains on hole #6 to make Hal’s wallet $30 thicker!! It was a beautiful flight that only Austin and I had the privilege to witness. Congrats Hal!! On a side note, hole #3 now has one less tree to worry about if you come in from the right side.—-JBK

There were only five of us but Austin, Geoff, Hal, John & Skyler had a ruleshously good time!!! Started play in a normal manner then all sorts of stuff happened. Skipped putting and just went for the ace run, two drives per hole, started making up holes, ctp person got to call next hole, and if one got both their drives closer than anyone else they won $2. Skyler was the only one that garnered that prize!!! And Skyler was the only one that hit metal the whole night. How many holes did we play??? What rules will be made up next week?? That will of course depend on how many players show up. What’s the number one rule for having fun at a weekly with the Chainrackers???????? Answer–You have to show up!!!! Keep ‘em flyin’—JBK

Weather Wins the Day–Skyler Takes Home Black Mini!!

Players were so ecstatic to be out on the course under such excellent conditions that they all forgot to bring their A games. Skyler’s B+ game was good enough to win the March monthly. Kevan took 2nd, Hal out CTP’d Bryan for 3rd and Jack got the final points for 5th. When I mean by not bringing their A games is that there were no personal bests. Skyler & Kevan were only 3 strokes off, while all others were just a wee bit more. Mike & Mark were back for their 2nd rounds towards handicaps, while Connor was there for his first. Mike did bring his A game and shaved 14 strokes off his Feb. score. Keep ‘em flyin’—–JBK

Club Shirts & Minis

Okay rackers, time to buy so we can increase club funds. T-shirts will cost $10. On hand: 2-short sleeve mediums,1-long sleeve large, 3-xxl long sleeve, 1-xxx brown short sleeve. Sweatshirts: $14: 2-small, 1-medium, 4-large…$16: 3-xx..$17: 2-xxx…Hoodie Sweatshirts: $18: 4-large, 1-medium, 1-small. Lots of minis to sell for $1 each. Put in your order so I can dig it out of the box for the monthly and so other rackers know what’s left. Minis are great stocking stuffers!!!

Club Funds Update

Hello Rackers: Good News: Ace Pools page has been updated. Bad News: Theoretically the club should have $385. We only have $284. A difference of $101. Hope the following explanation is understood. The $101 number was calculated this way: Currently club has $284 on hand. Monthly ace pot at $234. Weekly ace pot at $66. Add those to get $300. Difference of $16. Total number of $1 monthly payments in 2010 is $85. $85 + $16=$101. The reason for the negative club funds is this. The cost for the purchase of sweatshirts in 12/09 was $585.31. Of course the club did not have that much money on hand so Jim paid out of his own pocket. (I think we still owe Jim some money) I say this because: Cost of sweatshirts = $585.31. Jim’s pricing of sweatshirts would bring in $591. Sales as of today have been $303. So, if the rest of sweatshirts sold today, we would get $288 more. $288 – $101 would equal $187 in the Chainrackers coffers. To me, that would be way to much. I could go on and on about all this, but I would probably confuse you more!!!! LOL. Bottom line is: Sweatshirts & T-shirts need to be bought so club funds, (not including ace pots) can get back above $100. I say $100 because trophies for ’09 awards totaled $103.80. Don’t want to raid ace pots for awards, because if someone hits an ace then some of the payoff will have to come out of someone’s pocket. Okay that’s enough for now. I won’t be bringing up the idea of capping ace pot payout at $100!!! Oops I just did!! Keep ‘em flyin’—–and I did not even mention the money Jim put out for the minis!!!

Course Closure for 4th!!! & Wed. Nite Play

From July 2nd 7pm, to July 5th 1pm, the course will be closed.
Let’s get the Wed. nite play back in action!! 6 pm tee time. 1st nine will be tee pads. 2nd nine will be the ML9!!! The ML9 is a par 31!! Come on out next Wed. the 7th and have some fun and a sore arm the 8th!!!!!!!!!

Gabe Won It!!

Wish I could have been there to see you destroy the field Gabe. Also heard you flicked a monster forehand roller on LONG 9!!! Really wish I could have seen that!!! Steve, took 2nd, and has now taken over the lead in the Championship points race. Marie, I hear you put one right under the CTP basket to take 4th. George was on the short end of Marie’s throw and took 5th. Heard from Jim a few days ago and his wife, Shelley, is doing well and should be out the hospital by now. Lots of rehab ahead, so Jim won’t be back in CA for a few weeks. Send your wishing well thoughts Georgia way. Jim sent me the Chainracker numbers and I have made an honest attempt to update the numbers. If you have a question regarding the new numbers posted, just ask. Keep ‘em flyin’

Course Closed!!! OOPS!!! & ML9 Play

There is a sign on first tee saying the course will be closed this Sat 3/27 from 2:30pm til 2:30pm on 3/28. There is going to be a Nutrition Fuels Fitness 5K/10K Fun Run/Walk on Sun. morning. The OOPS is in regards to my negligence in mentioning the most wonderful event that happened at our last monthly. One of the original Chainrackers returned!!! It certainly was most excellent to see Tim out again, scars and all!!! Looking forward to playing with you again Tim. Now for the ML9 Play. (ML=mile long) Hal and I will be teeing off this Sat. 3/27 at 7:30am. If you want to loosen your arm up, or throw it out, come play the 5,256′ ML9. The shortest hole is 429′ and the longest is 784′. We have par set at 31. We have only played it twice and have yet to throw par. It is a MONSTER!!!!! Until we next meet on a course–Keep ‘em flyin’.

Monthly Ace Policy

There never really has been a policy regarding paying into the monthly ace pot. It has been show up, pay your buck and good luck. After talking with Jim and Hal, along with input from some Rackers, the following is our new format for winning our Monthly Ace Pot, hertofore referred to as MAP. In order to have the opportunity to go home with some extra cash from hitting an ace during a monthly, you must have played in 3 monthly tournaments to win the Chainrackers MAP. That is all—back to dreaming about spinning plastic………Keep ‘em flyin’
