January Monthly

For January’s monthly we will be playing off the tee pads for all 27 holes. Handicaps have been based off last years scores for your 9 holes from the teepads in the monthlies that you played. The formula used for normal monthly handicapping has been used for your teepad handicap. I’ll use Mike as an example because he is reigning Champion and threw the most rounds last year. Mike competed 11 times in 2011. His lowest 5 rounds from the teepads averaged 25.80. That’s 1.20 below par for 9 holes. 92% of 1.20 is 1.10. Multiply 1.10 by 3 and you get 3.31. Multiplying by 3 because we are throwing 27 holes not 9. Mike’s handicap is add 3. The rest are Hal & John +12, Darren +7, Austin & Connor +6, Geoff +2, Kevan +1, Mark -3, Rick -14, Marie -16, and Pete -17. There are many others with handicaps but they have not shown up in awhile so they are not listed here. Others are not listed because they have not thrown 3 rounds to establish handicaps. Weekly Doubles to Start Tonight 5/24/2011

Well it’s that time of the year again. Now that the weather is cooperating for the most part we will start up the weekly doubles. We will start at 6:00 pm on Tuesdays. If there are enough people we will play random doubles and if not we will just play.

The entrance fee is $1.00 that is simply for the Ace Pot. Remember that the weekly Ace Pot is capped at $30.00 and hopefully someone can hit it tonight.

Course Closure for 4th!!! & Wed. Nite Play

From July 2nd 7pm, to July 5th 1pm, the course will be closed.
Let’s get the Wed. nite play back in action!! 6 pm tee time. 1st nine will be tee pads. 2nd nine will be the ML9!!! The ML9 is a par 31!! Come on out next Wed. the 7th and have some fun and a sore arm the 8th!!!!!!!!!

2011 Pro Worlds in Santa Cruz!!!!!

Mark your calendars!!! According to the PDGA website the Pro Worlds will be in Santa Cruz Aug. 7th-13th of 2011!! Anybody have a place to stay over there?? I’m in!!!!!

Course Closed!!! OOPS!!! & ML9 Play

There is a sign on first tee saying the course will be closed this Sat 3/27 from 2:30pm til 2:30pm on 3/28. There is going to be a Nutrition Fuels Fitness 5K/10K Fun Run/Walk on Sun. morning. The OOPS is in regards to my negligence in mentioning the most wonderful event that happened at our last monthly. One of the original Chainrackers returned!!! It certainly was most excellent to see Tim out again, scars and all!!! Looking forward to playing with you again Tim. Now for the ML9 Play. (ML=mile long) Hal and I will be teeing off this Sat. 3/27 at 7:30am. If you want to loosen your arm up, or throw it out, come play the 5,256′ ML9. The shortest hole is 429′ and the longest is 784′. We have par set at 31. We have only played it twice and have yet to throw par. It is a MONSTER!!!!! Until we next meet on a course–Keep ‘em flyin’.

Monthly reminder & WARNING!!!!

This Saturday, the 17th, will be the monthly. The gates have been closed this week due to storm damage. Have not seen any clean-up crews. If gates are closed, there is a street just north of the Elk-Grove Florin entrance for parking.

The California Emergency Response Team will be holding a comprehensive full scale disaster exercise at the park this Saturday, October 10th. Rescheduling monthly to Saturday October 17th. Please respond to this message so we know who not to call. And if you happen to notify other Chainrackers of change, please inform us of that also. Keep ‘em flyin’

Possible Conflict, An Option, Your Thoughts?

Conflict-I have a Disc Golf Workshop from 10 to 12 on the day of our July Monthly. Possible, because it may be cancelled due to lack of participants. Will not know until Thurs. the 9th if it is a go or not. Option-At least 3 of us tee off at 7:30, so I can be done before the workshop. Your thoughts?? Keep ‘em flyin’
