John’s Ace @ the Weekly
Well it has taken me a while but I finally overcame my technology challenges so everyone could see John’s Ace. John just couldn’t stand that I had hit an ace so the very next week he went out and hit one. It just so happened that I quit playing because of my back, so I decided to attempt to video the hole. It blows my mind that on the first hole I film John hits a kick butt Skip Ace.
Sorry for the video quality as it was nearly dark when John hit the ace. I also lost it when he hit the ace with the Santa type laugh in the background.
Skyler Gets First Win!!!
Well another monthly has come and gone and it was a great day for golf. We had three golfers shoot the personal best scores and guess what, they came in first, second and third place.
Results for November 13th:
Skyler Horn – First Place with a 92 ( 10 shots better than personal best) and a handicap of sub 20 netted him a 72.
Geoff Orris – Second Place with an 83 ( three shots better than personal best) and a handicap of sub 8 netted him a 75.
Zack Dansker - Third Place with a 78 ( 1 shot better than personal best) and a handicap of sub 2 netted him a 76.
Hal Horn – 4th place with 78 and an add 2 handicap shoots 80. Wins 4th place in a throw off.
Steven Michaelis – 5th place with an 82 and a sub 2 handicap shoots 80.
It was a great day and there were some handicap changes as a result of yesterdays great scores. Check the Handicap page for your new handicap Skyler, Geoff and Zack.
Well it comes down to the December monthly for Steven and Doug to battle it out for first place in 2010. We will continue to group the players in December by their championship position. This should make for a very fun round of golf next month.
See ya in December -

Wednesday Night Ace – Finally!!!!!
Well the last time it happened was July of 2009, when John aced #5, but we finally had someone hit an Ace on a Wednesday night. The cool thing is that it happened to be me that hit it. The Star “St. Patricks Day” Roc has earned it’s place into my bag forever now. I hit a steep Hyzer line on #5 that took one skip really close to the basket and went right in. It’s a very cool thing to hit an Ace where there are actually people there to see it happen.

Zack Takes Second Win of 2010
Well first of all let me thank everyone for attending this month. We had a very good turnout with 17 people playing and 15 paid competitors. It was great to see Rob’s son Kyle attend and get his first handicapped round. He should end up with a handicap that will give John a run for his money. Kyle shot a 73 raw score yesterday – Great Job!!
Well here is how the scores shook out:
1. Zack shot a 79 ( Personal Best) and with his handicap of sub 4 applied he ended up with a 75 for first place.
2. Geoff shot an 86 ( Also Personal Best) and with his handicap of sub 8 he ended up with a 78 for second place.
3. Skyler shot his best round score of 102 and with his handicap of sub 23 he ended up with a score of 79.
4. Steve shot an 83 and with his handicap of sub 3 he ended up with a score of 80 for 4th place.
5. Marie rounded out the top 5 with a raw score of 113 ( 2 shots off her personal best) and with her handicap of sub 32 applied she netted a score of 81.
It was a Great day to play with very little wind and perfect weather for the entire tournament.
Make sure that you check the Championship page and the handicap page. Things are heating up on the 2010 Championship and should be great race to the end.
Thanks and I will see you at the course.

28 Holes in 1 1/4 Hrs!!!
Austin, Doug, Hal, John & Skyler showed for the first, of many to come, Chainracker version of the Ace Race. John had an Ace & 2 metals. Austin, Doug & Hal had 1 metal each. Doug had the memorable shot of the evening. His Flash (I believe) split the wood on the structure of hole 8 and it stuck there!! More Racker Races to come! Also going to figure out handicaps for 18 holes of teepads. We’ll start this next year sometime. Gotta go eat some raspberry chicken!!!!Keep ‘em flyin’——–JBK
Best Ace Ever
Just testing how to post a video. By the way this is the sickest ace I have ever seen on Youtube!!!!
Fresno Ace Race Yesterday
I just wanted to update everyone on the Ace Race in Fresno yesterday. Skyler and I decided to attend this event about 4 weeks ago and I want to say it was a blast. You have all seen me putt, so any event where I do not have to is a beautiful thing. The event is sponsored by Discraft and for your $25.00 entry fee you receive two prototype discs, a hat, a mini and a bag tag. The discs were over-stable mid ranges in ESP plastic.
We played three rounds of 12 holes for a total of 36 holes and it only took about an hour and a half to play with 30 t0 35 people entered. The holes were all short, like our #4 or #7. You throw one disc per hole and it has to be one of the discs that you receive when you sign in. You only keep track of Aces and any shot that hits metal, which is used as a tie breaker.
Now for the good stuff. Out of the thirty plus entries there were only three aces on the day and I was fortunate enough to have one of them. Unfortunately the other two aces came from the same person. Skyler was one of about 14 people that actually hit metal which put him in a tie for 4th place. First place had two aces and no metal hits, second place had one ace and two metal hits, yours truly, third place had three metal hits and 4th place were all of the people that had a minimum of one metal hit.
There is another Ace Race in Modesto on October the 24th and Skyler and I would highly recommend the event to any and all as a very fun way to spend the day. I think he and I will be at the one in Modesto as well.
Doug Grabs Season Points Lead With His Second Win Of The Year
Well yesterday provided a great day for disc golf and we had some very good performances as a result. We had 14 people play yesterday and 13 paid. It was great to have a first time player from the Woodland area, Dave Rios, who played very well and had a Great thumber over the tree on #5 to within a few feet of the basket. Once Dave gets two more rounds for his handicap, he looks like he could be a force in the monthly events.
Now for the results: Doug posted a personal best score of 89 which when adjusted for his handicap netted him a score of 76 for the win. Hal also posted a personal best score of 75 and with his add 2 handicap put him in second place with a 77. Third place went to Geoff with a raw score of 87, tied his personal best score, handicap of sub 9 for a net 78. Fourth place went to Gabe with a raw score of 77, also tied a personal best, and an add 2 handicap netted him a 79. Fifth place went to Skyler Horn. He also shot his best score of 104 and with his handicap added in of sub 24, netted him an 80.
Great to see everyone out yesterday and I look forward to seeing everyone at the next monthly.
Make sure that you check out the Standings page as well as the Handicap page. There has been some movement on both pages.

Put in your order so I can dig it out of the box for the monthly and so other rackers know what’s left. Minis are great stocking stuffers!!!
Club Funds Update
Hello Rackers: Good News: Ace Pools page has been updated. Bad News: Theoretically the club should have $385. We only have $284. A difference of $101. Hope the following explanation is understood. The $101 number was calculated this way: Currently club has $284 on hand. Monthly ace pot at $234. Weekly ace pot at $66. Add those to get $300. Difference of $16. Total number of $1 monthly payments in 2010 is $85. $85 + $16=$101. The reason for the negative club funds is this. The cost for the purchase of sweatshirts in 12/09 was $585.31. Of course the club did not have that much money on hand so Jim paid out of his own pocket. (I think we still owe Jim some money) I say this because: Cost of sweatshirts = $585.31. Jim’s pricing of sweatshirts would bring in $591. Sales as of today have been $303. So, if the rest of sweatshirts sold today, we would get $288 more. $288 – $101 would equal $187 in the Chainrackers coffers. To me, that would be way to much. I could go on and on about all this, but I would probably confuse you more!!!! LOL. Bottom line is: Sweatshirts & T-shirts need to be bought so club funds, (not including ace pots) can get back above $100. I say $100 because trophies for ’09 awards totaled $103.80. Don’t want to raid ace pots for awards, because if someone hits an ace then some of the payoff will have to come out of someone’s pocket. Okay that’s enough for now. I won’t be bringing up the idea of capping ace pot payout at $100!!! Oops I just did!! Keep ‘em flyin’—–and I did not even mention the money Jim put out for the minis!!!
