Zack Becomes Another First Time Winner!!
By one stroke, Zack wins the August monthly. Geoff was on the short side of that stroke followed by Marie, Doug, & Hal. Eventhough Steve was not present, (played in the Gold Pan) he still leads in the points race. 7 paid players hit the course along with Skyler Horn, who shot his first round of 3 for handicap. Best shot in our group was Kevan’s high arcing flick anhyzer putt of 100+ feet!!!!! Those that missed, beware of some new tees. #1 mid & #7 long are new looks.
Bryan’s Bogey Free 75 Gets The Win!!!
Well it was great weekend for the July monthly and as a result we had some very good scores. Bryan posted a “Bogey Free” 73. With his add 2 handicap he ended up with a 75. That was good enough to edge out Steve Michaelis by 1 shot who shot an 80 with a sub 4, for a score of 76. Hal ended up with a 76 and an add 1 to post a 77 followed by Doug who posted a round of 90 with a sub 12 for a score of 78. Great Job Doug, I think that handicap is going to be falling again. Rounding out the top 5 was Del with score of 79. We had a new participant this weekend named Zack Dansker. Zack played great topped off by putting his tee shot on long 7 to within 24 inches of the basket to win a disc out of the John Kimball disc stash.
I will be updating the championship points and handicaps this week and we will be staying up to date on those going forward in a much more timely manner. Great day today and I hope to see some of you on the course between now and the next monthly.
Hal

Just Another Day In the Park For Austin
This makes it 3 out of the 5 months in 2010 that Austin has won a Chainracker monthly. Austin beat his previous best score in a monthly by 4 shots. With his handicap, the closest any Racker got to Austin’s 73 was 5 shots down. Kevan was in the first group to finish and his 78 looked pretty good to be in the money. He had to settle for second. Del got his entry fee back by coming in third. Gabe, Geoff, Jack and John had to do a CTP for the 4th and 5th place points. John and Gabe prevailed. Congrats to Austin!! Keep ‘em flyin’.
Gabe Won It!!
Wish I could have been there to see you destroy the field Gabe. Also heard you flicked a monster forehand roller on LONG 9!!! Really wish I could have seen that!!! Steve, took 2nd, and has now taken over the lead in the Championship points race. Marie, I hear you put one right under the CTP basket to take 4th. George was on the short end of Marie’s throw and took 5th. Heard from Jim a few days ago and his wife, Shelley, is doing well and should be out the hospital by now. Lots of rehab ahead, so Jim won’t be back in CA for a few weeks. Send your wishing well thoughts Georgia way. Jim sent me the Chainracker numbers and I have made an honest attempt to update the numbers. If you have a question regarding the new numbers posted, just ask. Keep ‘em flyin’
Course Closed!!! OOPS!!! & ML9 Play
There is a sign on first tee saying the course will be closed this Sat 3/27 from 2:30pm til 2:30pm on 3/28. There is going to be a Nutrition Fuels Fitness 5K/10K Fun Run/Walk on Sun. morning. The OOPS is in regards to my negligence in mentioning the most wonderful event that happened at our last monthly. One of the original Chainrackers returned!!! It certainly was most excellent to see Tim out again, scars and all!!! Looking forward to playing with you again Tim. Now for the ML9 Play. (ML=mile long) Hal and I will be teeing off this Sat. 3/27 at 7:30am. If you want to loosen your arm up, or throw it out, come play the 5,256′ ML9. The shortest hole is 429′ and the longest is 784′. We have par set at 31. We have only played it twice and have yet to throw par. It is a MONSTER!!!!! Until we next meet on a course–Keep ‘em flyin’.
First Win For Steve!!
In a 3 way playoff, with 83 being the winning score, Steve bested George and Rob in the CTP contest to take home his first black mini as a Chainracker. Congrats Steve!! George took 2nd and Rob 3rd. We had a great turnout of 17 players this month. With 13 of them in the pay to play division, (handicaps established) 4th place was the final payout slot. John and Hal, with their 85′s, got to see who won their entry fee back. John did. While playing, I always try to see how the other groups are doing, so I can come up with more material for these entries. Saw Gabe pistol a beauty on long 8. Ended up pin high about 50′ to the left. Was worried about the course record being broken when I saw Bill Kohler in the field! A well seasoned PDGA tournament player he is. Thank you all for showing up and am looking forward to the first monthly when we have a 20 player field. Keep ‘em flyin’
Oh wait!!!—Am I missing something?? Will the player who birdied long 9 please provide us with a little more information?!?!?!?
Monthly Ace Policy
There never really has been a policy regarding paying into the monthly ace pot. It has been show up, pay your buck and good luck. After talking with Jim and Hal, along with input from some Rackers, the following is our new format for winning our Monthly Ace Pot, hertofore referred to as MAP. In order to have the opportunity to go home with some extra cash from hitting an ace during a monthly, you must have played in 3 monthly tournaments to win the Chainrackers MAP. That is all—back to dreaming about spinning plastic………Keep ‘em flyin’
Handicaps and Club Championship Points are Posted!
That’s right. I have posted the current handicaps and 2010 Club Championship points. You will notice that the format has changed due to the time needed to edit data under that old format. The current Club Championship page will only show the total for the year to date. A copy of the complete point record for the year is available at every monthly tournament.
The other big news is, Austin’s crushing tournament record has resulted in a huge drop in his handicap. Austin, who started the year with a SUB 7 handicap, has now made a dramatic drop to a SUB 3. Congratulations Austin! Your handicap shows that you are one of our clubs better players…but now the task of winning has become even more of a battle. Best of luck as you compete at this even more challenging level.
